Bro Mask Review

Bro Mask Review: Is it a Scam?

TL; DR Review Summary

Bro Mask is a decent skincare product for men. It is safe, contains some well-studied ingredients, and instantly improves your skin appearance. That said, for the price of $28 for just four masks, we expected more. Compared to leading men’s skin creams, Bro Mask is missing some important ingredients such as Retagen-X, and the fact that it’s only for occasional use means it’s not nearly as effective at reducing wrinkles, fine lines, and skin aging in general.

Bro Mask is a dermatologist-approved, celebrity-backed mask designed to help you achieve instant healthy glow before photoshoots or special events.

What makes Bro Mask stand out?

  • Made in 2 pieces so if you have a beard you can use half
  • Packed with proven skin-enhancing ingredients like ginger, 3% niacinamide, and hyaluronic acid among others
  • Helps reduce redness, dull skin, and fine lines

Bro Mask is fragrance-free and cruelty-free. Each box gets you 4 single-use face masks.

We like the concept of Bro Mask – it is designed for short-term, occasional use only. But, as you’ve seen from our short summary, I’m not the biggest fan of Bro Mask when it comes to promoting long-term skin health.

I’ll explain my reasoning in detail below.

What’s Inside?

Bro Mask Ingredients

The main active ingredients in Bro Mask are:

  • Vitamin B3 (Niacinamide)
  • Collagen
  • Hyaluronic Acid
  • Peptides
  • Green Tea
  • Ginger
  • Licorice Root
  • Seaweed

The other noteworthy inclusions are tocopherol (a form of vitamin E) and Schizandra Fruit.

The rest are mostly fillers/synthetics and other inactive ingredients that don’t do much in terms of skin health.

Unlike some market-leading men’s skin creams and other skincare products, Bro Mask doesn’t show us the exact amount of ingredients it contains. This makes it a bit tricky to tell if the ingredients are effectively dosed. For all we know, bro skin could be 99% aqua and glycerin, which would make it useless!

Assuming they’ve dosed their ingredients correctly, let’s go ahead and have a look at what each main ingredient in the formula can do for your face.

Vitamin B3 (Niacinamide)

Vitamin B3 is also known as nicotinamide or niacinamide. It is a water-soluble vitamin that can be found in many foods, including meat, fish and dairy products. Vitamin B3 is a key ingredient in skincare products because it has antioxidant properties that help protect the skin from the harmful effects of free radicals.

Collagen is a protein that is found in the body and it helps to maintain its structure. It is found in skin, bones, ligaments, and tendons.

Collagen has many benefits for the skin and it has been used in skin care products for decades. Collagen helps to smooth wrinkles on the surface of the skin which reduces signs of aging.

Collagen also helps to improve elasticity in your skin which will help to reduce your wrinkles over time.

There are many different types of collagen that can be used in beauty products including marine collagen, bovine collagen, and human-derived collagen.

Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in the human body. It is also known as hyaluronan, and it is the key component of skin’s natural moisturizing factor (NMF).

It helps to maintain water balance in the skin, and it also helps to reduce inflammation. Hyaluronic acid is found in many different types of skin care products. It can be used topically on the skin or injected into joints to improve joint health and reduce pain.

Peptides are molecules that are made up of amino acids. They are one of the most important components in skin care products. Peptides are used to repair skin cells and can also be used to reduce wrinkles and fine lines.

Green Tea

Green tea contains catechins, which have antioxidant properties. Antioxidants are important because they fight against free radicals, which cause damage to cells and lead to aging. Free radicals also make the skin more susceptible to sun damage and other environmental factors that can cause acne breakouts, wrinkles, and other signs of aging.

Ginger is a spice that comes from the ginger root. Ginger is often used in skin care products because it has anti-inflammatory properties and can improve blood circulation, making your skin appear more vibrant.

Licorice Root

This is a weird one. Licorice root is a natural ingredient rumored to help hydrate and soothe irritated skin. The problem is, studies haven’t yet proven these folk uses to be true. There are far more effective ingredients, such as Retinol, that could’ve been put in Licorice’s stead.

Seaweed is another one of those ingredients that have a lot of rumors behind them, but very little actual evidence. It’s just adding dead weight to Bro Mask.

How to Use?

There are three steps to using Bro Mask.

First, clean your face and, after removing both plastic films, place the mask on your face avoiding your eye area. It’s fine if your mask prices overlap slightly. Smooth the mask to fit your skin nicely.

Second step is to wait – for 20 minutes.

Lastly, remove your mask and pat serum onto your skin. It’s recommended to use Bro Mask once it twice per week, or whenever you need it.

This is not the best way to use anti-aging skincare products in general. While this occasional use may give you a short-term glow, it’s not effective at reducing signs of aging and keeping your skin looking youthful long-term.

Is Bro Mask Safe?

Bro Mask is safe. If you have extremely sensitive skin, it may cause slight irritation, but that’s as bad as it gets. The side effects from Bro Mask are virtually nonexistent as it is using well-studied ingredients.

Is it Good for Oily and Acne-Prone Skin?

Bro Mask should work well for all skin types, including those with oily skin and people who often get breakouts. That being said, you won’t know how Bro Mask will work for you until you actually try it! This is the thing with skin creams – it’s difficult to say how it will work for you compared to how it works for me, as each one of us has different skin chemistry.

How Does Bro Mask Compare to Alternatives?

Bro Mask is definitely far from the best option for anti-aging and long-term skin protection. For that purpose, there are better products available on the market, including the Tiege Hanley skin care system and Liomen Prime Skincare for Men.

Bro Mask costs $28 for a one-time purchase (box with 4 single-use masks). The price goes down to $23 if you choose to subscribe.

For the price that is being charged, Bro Mask would need to offer more masks or better ingredients in order to consider it a great value for money.

The product itself is okay, you can expect healthier and more vibrant-looking skin after using it. But the issue I have with it is that these effects don’t last.

For long-term skin quality improvement, you’ll want a specialized skin cream for men with proven ingredients, used consistently every day.
